Food & Health and FOCUS have been selecting Germany's best company restaurants since 2018. The newcomer in the competition, the company restaurant "Rudolf's" of the Freiburg-based Haufe Group, took second place at the first attempt this year.
The company restaurant Rudolf's - operated by Aramark Holding Deutschland GmbH - prevailed against more than 100 competitors and convinced the jury in particular in the areas of "enjoyment" (2nd place), "health" (3rd place) and "responsibility" (4th place). In the overall evaluation of all canteens and company restaurants with up to 300 meals a day, Rudolf's achieved 4.5 out of a possible 5 points and thus second place in the overall ranking.
After two years of pandemic, this year the jury focused on gastronomy concepts that strengthen the sense of togetherness and invite to creative breaks. What the jury chair Theresa Geisel from Food & Health e.V. particularly likes about Rudolf’s is the ongoing commitment and creativity with which operations manager Georges Grunenwald and chef Matthieu Amori prepare and present the dishes.
"With the Haufe Group, the two meet a company that gives them the necessary freedom and support not only to create fantastic dishes that are a daily expression of appreciation for their guests, but also to take responsibility for the region, the environment and animal welfare. An outstanding concept that immediately excited us and is forward-looking for us," says Theresa Geisel.
"We are very proud! For the entire team, the award is a great confirmation of our work. It shows that we are on the right track with our investments in healthy and sustainable catering. And this is only possible together with the Haufe Group," says a delighted Georges Grunenwald, Operations Manager.
Jürgen Spegel, Head of Human Resources at the Haufe Group, is also happy for the "Rudis", as the employees at the Freiburg site call their canteen. "The entire team of our company restaurant outdoes itself every day with creative ideas, new products, sustainable cuisine, our own herb garden and great promotions. We are proud that one of the best canteens in Germany delights us with culinary dishes every day," he says.
