Freiburg / Stuttgart, December 3, 2024 - Haufe Group has received the Business Medal of the State of Baden-Württemberg. Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism, presented CEO Birte Hackenjos and CFO Harald Wagner with the award for outstanding entrepreneurial achievements and in recognition of their special services to the Baden-Württemberg economy.

The ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism, took place on November 28, 2024 in Stuttgart Palace. CEO Birte Hackenjos and CFO Harald Wagner jointly accepted the award and certificate on behalf of Haufe Group that evening. A total of seven personalities and six companies were honored with the Business Medal. "As long as our country has personalities such as those we are honoring today, we need not fear for our future," emphasized Minister Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut in her speech to the guests of honor.

Digitalization and transformation as successful business drivers

In her laudatory speech, the Minister paid tribute to the development of Haufe Group, which - once founded as Rudolf Haufe Verlag in Freiburg - had already undergone a digital transformation in 1994. "Transformation is therefore a permanent condition for Haufe Group and sustainable development and shared responsibility are a core message that Haufe Group also wants to empower its customers to achieve," said the Minister.

In her acceptance speech, CEO Birte Hackenjos emphasized that she also sees the award of the Business Medal as a tribute to small and medium-sized enterprises. Her special thanks went to the shareholders of Haufe Group for their trust and room for maneuver, as well as to all employees, without whom this award would not have been possible.

About the award

The Business Medal has been awarded since 1987 for special services to the economy and society in the state of Baden-Württemberg. According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the main criteria for assessing economic performance as part of the selection process for the Business Medal are, for example, the preservation or creation of qualified jobs. Special achievements in the areas of innovation, research and development, knowledge transfer and resource-oriented management are also assessed.
